Q: I’M DRIVING IN FROM OUT OF TOWN. WHERE CAN I PARK MY CAR?

A: The State Theatre does not have a parking lot of our own, but we are located right in the heart of downtown Ithaca and there are 4 large parking garages nearby, all within easy walking distance.  The parking garages closest to us are the Green Street Garage and The Cayuga Street Garage.  You can see a map of downtown Ithaca by clicking here.  There’s also a website with useful information about parking in downtown Ithaca at: https://parkithaca.com/

 

Q:  I BOUGHT TICKETS THROUGH OTHER, SECONDARY MARKET SOURCES (IE., “SCALPERS” ONLINE OR IN PERSON) – ARE MY TICKETS LEGITIMATE?

A: The State Theatre of Ithaca DOES NOT ENDORSE USING ANY SECONDARY TICKETING SOURCES.  Our Box Offices cannot resolve any issues involving them, such as lost tickets or bogus tickets.   Tickets for all of our shows are sold through Ticketfly, via our website, or in person at the Box Office at 105 West State Street in Downtown Ithaca. Tickets are sometimes available through fan club sites as pre-sales or special VIP packages. The State Theatre has the right to cancel ticket transactions that are suspected of being purchased for the sole purpose of reselling.

Third party “ticket resale” web sites create the illusion that they have “special access” to the best seats in the house, or that they are authorized sellers for The State Theatre of Ithaca, but all they do is purchase tickets from The State or private individuals and resell them at inflated prices. None of the price markup benefits the theater or the artist, who were the entities that put up the money and the time and the energy to create the show in the first place, and The State Theatre cannot confirm that tickets purchased from anywhere other than Eventbright.com or The State Theatre directly are valid.

Q. HOW MANY TOTAL SEATS DOES THE STATE THEATRE HAVE?

A. The State Theatre of Ithaca has just over 1,600 total seats. We have 900 seats in our downstairs Orchestra section and 700 seats upstairs in the balcony.

Q. ARE SHOWS AT THE STATE THEATRE RESERVED SEATED OR GENERAL ADMISSION?

A. Both! The State Theatre accommodates fully reserved seated shows as well as shows that offer General Admission (G.A.) seating. General Admission (G.A.) refers to seating or standing areas that are not assigned or reserved, and are occupied on a first-come, first-served basis.  If you’d like to get a great seat at a G.A. show, just show up shortly after doors open!

Q. WHERE CAN I BUY TICKETS TO SHOWS? DO YOU HAVE A BOX OFFICE?

A. Tickets for State Theatre shows can be purchased online via this website HERE, over the phone at (607) 277-8283 or in person at the State Theatre Box Office, located directly next door to the theatre at 105 West State/Martin Luther King Street in downtown Ithaca.

Box Office hours are from Wednesday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM and Saturdays from 11 AM- 4 PM. If there is a show on a Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday, the Box Office will open 2 hours before the show’s start time and will remain open for 1 hour after the show begins.

We offer limited Box Office Hours in June, July and August.

Q. WHAT’S UP WITH THE SERVICE CHARGES? HOW CAN I AVOID THEM?

A. State Theatre of Ithaca, Inc. is a small, not-for-profit organization with limited ability to cover all ticket transactions. Like most theatres our size, we work with an outside ticketing company that charges a service fee to help defer the costs of providing this service. The service charges for online and telephone sales vary depending on ticket price, delivery method, and number of tickets. There is no service charge on tickets purchased at our Box Office at 105 West State Street in Ithaca, however all credit card fees (3% of your entire order) will still be applicable.

Q. WHAT IS YOUR REFUND POLICY?

A. Refunds or exchanges are not permitted for any tickets purchased unless the headliner cancels the show. If a show is rescheduled, the new date will be posted to this website and your ticket for the original show will be honored at the rescheduled date. If a show is cancelled and no make-up date is announced then the ticket is refundable. The refund will happen automatically if you purchased with a credit card. Otherwise if you paid cash, a check will be automatically mailed to you within 5 days after cancellation. If a support act cancels, there are no refunds.

Q. WHERE DO I PICK UP MY WILL CALL TICKETS?

A. All Will Call tickets can be picked up at our Box Office right next door to the theatre at 105 West State/Martin Luther King Street in downtown Ithaca. Will Call Tickets are available for pick-up on the day of the show, usually 2 hours before doors open (typically 5 PM). Please be prepared to provide government-issued photo identification and the credit card that was used to purchase the tickets.
About an hour after the show has started, Will Call tickets usually are available for pickup in the theatre’s lobby.

Q. CAN I GIVE MY TICKETS TO SOMEONE ELSE?

A. Government-issued photo ID will be required to receive tickets at the Will Call Window, and only the ticket-purchaser can pick up Will Call Tickets.
