Q. WHAT ARE THE AGE BREAKDOWNS FOR YOUR TICKET PRICES?

A. CHILD priced tickets are for kids 12 and under. We will honor STUDENT ticket pricing with a valid college I.D. SENIOR priced tickets are for people 65 years of age and older.

Q. MAY I RESELL MY TICKET IF I CANNOT USE IT?

A. You may resell your ticket for the face value of it. The State Theatre of Ithaca does not condone the secondary sale of tickets for a value exceeding the purchase price and reserves the right not to do business with any individual known to engage in this practice.

Q. WHY ARE THERE TICKETS AVAILABLE ON OTHER WEBSITES?

A. The State Theatre of Ithaca Box Office and our official ticketing provider, Ticketfly, are the only authorized ticket sellers for shows presented at this venue. We do not provide tickets to other sellers with the exception of occasional partnerships with some of the local college concert commissions or other nonprofit organizations as fundraisers. Tickets purchased from other sources are purchased at your own risk. We urge patrons to purchase tickets through us only as tickets available on other web sites are usually sold by ticket scalpers who charge inflated prices. By purchasing through us, you are assured that the ticket you receive is valid and is being sold to you at face value.

When you buy from someone other than The State Theatre Box Office:

  • We cannot guarantee that your tickets are genuine.
  • You may pay more than face value.
  • We cannot replace lost or stolen tickets.
  • We cannot contact you with information on show cancellations, time changes, other performance updates, upcoming shows or other useful information.
  • You are supporting businesses that make it harder for true fans to see their favorite performers without paying a premium charge.

Q. IS THE STATE THEATRE ADA ACCESSIBLE? HOW CAN I PURCHASE TICKETS FOR DISABLED PATRONS?

A. Yes. Despite being close to 90 years old, The State Theatre is accessible to customers with disabilities. The Orchestra (ground) floor is accessible by wheelchair, and the venue has an ADA accessible restroom and drinking fountain. Additional ADA seating was added in the summer of 2018! Please call the Box Office directly at (607)277-8283 so we can accommodate you with seats that best fit your needs.

Q. AM I ALLOWED TO FILM OR PHOTOGRAPH MY FAVORITE BAND AT THE STATE THEATRE?

A. Photo/video policy is determined by the artist and is usually not determined until day-of-show. Occasionally, non-professional cameras are permitted as long as NO FLASH is used during the performance. You can inquire about the photo policy on day-of-show by calling the Box Office. Professional audio or video recording is only permitted with prior approval by the artist or their management.

Q. IT’S SUPER COLD OUT. IS THERE A COAT CHECK AT THE STATE THEATRE?

A. We do not currently have a coat check.

Q. SOME EVENTS AT THE STATE THEATRE SAY THEY ARE PRESENTED BY “DSP SHOWS”. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?

A. “DSP Shows” is a promoter that the State Theatre works closely with. We retain their services to help bring high quality artists to Ithaca. In addition, we rent our theatre to them for (primarily live music) shows that are marketed and promoted under the “DSP Shows” name. It is a mutually beneficial partnership that provides more high quality concerts at The State Theatre.

Q. CAN I SMOKE IN THE THEATRE?

A. No. Failure to follow this rule will lead to your immediate ejection from our premises. Smoking is allowed outside at designated areas.

Q. DO YOU SERVE ALCOHOL AT THE STATE THEATRE?

A. For most shows geared toward audiences ages 21+, you may purchase beer and wine at The State Theatre. Guests are expected to obey all state and local laws governing the purchase, possession, and consumption of alcohol. It is illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to consume alcoholic beverages. In addition, the following items are to be noted:
